Marketing Services

Raise your visibility with a comprehensive selection of services

AIP's Marketing & Sales department provides three levels of marketing services to meet your unique requirements.

Subscription Agent Relations
AIP notifies subscription agents of new titles, price increases, and format changes to ensure an efficient renewal process for fulfillment customers. The number of titles we distribute makes AIP an important player for subscription agents worldwide, and we meet annually with the largest agents to identify trends and troubleshoot problems on behalf of our publishing customers.

Advanced Marketing Services

Consortia/Corporate Licensing
AIP's dedicated sales team handles online licensing negotiations for multi-site networks. These include academic library consortia, government agencies, and corporations with multiple sites. Goals are to dramatically expand online accessibility of your journals, to stabilize subscription revenue, and to generate a steady new revenue stream.

European Library Sales Visits
Publishers are invited to participate in an annual campaign to promote their journals to key libraries across Europe and the United Kingdom. Participants have included the Optical Society of America, American Geophysical Union, American Physical Society, Acoustical Society of America, AVS, and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.

Customized Campaigns

AIP will develop a customized marketing plan for your journal to meet your particular needs. We employ a wide range of tools to achieve your goals, including:

E-mail Campaigns
Reach members, editors, authors, and subscribers in the most cost-effective way.

Telemarketing
Contact non-renewers, conduct market research, or introduce new products.

Direct Mail/Print Promotions
Leave a lasting impression with brochures, handouts, posters, and other material designed specifically for your product.

Advertising/Publicity
Create more visibility through select advertising, press releases to specialized and general science publications, Web banner ads with links to order fulfillment, and a host of other capabilities.

General Oversight
AIP's Marketing & Sales department assumes responsibility for communicating with the library and professional markets for your journals, announcing price or product changes, responding to queries, and resolving problems. For customers of AIP's online hosting service, Scitation®, this oversight includes resolving licensing issues, such as whether a multi-site or a single-site license is appropriate.

Services for AIP's Membership, Subscription, and Meetings Customers
The extensive demographic information tracked for AIP's fulfillment customers allows us to offer valuable services to help you manage increasingly complex distribution channels.

Local Representation in Key Asian Markets
AIP's exclusive Japanese distributor, Kinokuniya, provides promotion, customer service, and online licensing assistance for your journals in Japan. In China, Korea, Taiwan and other Asian countries, our sales agent, iGroup, provides distribution, market research and customer relations.

Demographic/Geographic Subscription Trend Analysis
Customers will receive detailed reports showing subscription trends by market segment and the country-by-country distribution of each journal.
